CD146, also known as melanoma cell adhesion molecule(MCAM) or MUC18, originally identified as a biomarker of melanoma progression, is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin(Ig) superfamily(PMID: 8378324). Structurally, it consists of
